About this Program
The Blight Authority of Memphis (BAM) has been utilizing the Tennessee Housing Development Agency’s (THDA) Blight Elimination Program (BEP) program as means to reduce the presence of derelict structures remove impediments to development, strengthen the safety of the community, and to improve the quality of life in Memphis neighborhoods. Currently, BAM is seeking blighted single-family residential properties to be demolished. Under this program, BAM can acquire properties, remove any existing blighted structures, then maintain and hold the property for productive reuse. Potential properties must be vacant and without utilities for a minimum of 90 days and be in blighted condition.
